2024 Workshops

ESCV – ENPEN WORKSHOP 2024

The European Society for Clinical Virology and European Non-Polio Enterovirus Network (ENPEN) are co-organising a 2-day Workshop on ENPEN-ESCV workshop on Non-Polio Enteroviruses in Europe, scheduled for 23-24 May 2024, on the island of Corfu, Greece.

The Scientific Committee has prepared an inspiring and interactive program for this Workshop, covering enterovirus diagnosis, treatment and surveillance in Europe. Workshop will not only present the status of current enterovirus surveillance in Europe but also focus on identifying the future needs and opportunities to develop this surveillance further. We will also discuss the current and future option antiviral treatment of enterovirus infections, including the planning how to establish treatment database to capture data on antivirals used to treat more severe enterovirus infections. Finally, we will also cover the seroprevalence studies and advances in genomics methods used for enterovirus typing. We do welcome abstract submissions for short oral presentations on any of these topic areas!

The final programme can be found here ENPEN Workshop Scientific Programme.

ESCV is offering a maximum of 50 travel grants to include:

–       Registration fee
–       2 nights accommodation
–       Coffee breaks and light lunches during the workshop
–       Corfu Tour & Traditional Corfiot Dinner

A special rate applies for the whole package, thus leaving a maximum of €380 available to each awardee for travel expenses. Costs exceeding this amount must be covered by each awardee.

As an ESCV member, you can apply for one of the above travel grants to cover part or all of your meeting attendance expenses, using the travel-grant-application-form.

A limited number of places are also offered to ESCV members to attend using their own funding. To apply, please use the same application form and indicate “own funding”

Please indicate clearly in the form whether you are applying for a travel grant, using your own funding, or wish to be considered for both options (that means that if you do not receive a travel grant, you would still be interested in attending using your own funding).

If you are not an ESCV member yet, you must apply for ESCV membership before your application can be considered by visiting our website (annual fee €40).

After completing your ESCV membership registration, proceed with the travel grant travel-grant-application-form and return it by email to TravelGrant.ESCV@kenes.com.

Completed forms must be returned by Wednesday, 24th January 2024. Successful applicants for a travel grant will be notified by February 20th, 2024. Please address any queries to the above email.

June 10 – 11 2024 Stockholm, Sweden

The European Society for Clinical Virology (ESCV) welcomes you to beautiful Sweden and the 4th ENNGS workshop on next generation sequencing in clinical virology. The workshop is open for ESCV members. If you are not yet a member, you are welcome to apply for membership. This time we meet at a beautifully located conference facility located between central Stockholm and Stockholm Arlanda airport. The program will include invited speaker presentations, presentations based on submitted abstracts and round-table discussions. There will also be a hands-on basic bioinformatics workshop available (pre-registration required).

We encourage participants to contribute to the scientific content by submitting abstracts.

Important dates:

22  March – last date for submission of travel grant application
29 March – all travel grant applicants will be notified
6 May – Last date for submitting of abstracts
13 May – Abstract submitters will be notified.

Registration includes accommodation at the site. Due to the location of the conference facility, we do not recommend alternative hotels. We offer two options for accommodation: one night or two nights. You are also requested to select an option for the parallel sessions on Monday afternoon (se preliminary program).

In this form you also can apply for a travel grant from ESCV. Travel grants will cover registration (including meals and accommodation) plus reimbursement of your own travel expenses up to €350 against your receipts. There will be 50 travel grants available and additional 30 places with own funding.

Last date for travel grant application: 22 March

After travel grant application deadline, ESCV will decide on travel grants. If you are awarded a travel grant, registration is free of charge. If you are not awarded a travel grant, and you wish to participate with own funding, you will receive an e-mail with payment details. Payment will be done by credit card.
