ESCV Virtual Meeting on COVID-19 2020
The ESCV Virtual Meeting on COVID-19 2020 was celebrated virtually on 9th September 2020.
While the pandemic was still ongoing, the European Society for Clinical Virology organized a timely, virtual, meeting focusing on COVID-19 which showcased the latest and most pertinent topics in COVID-19 and opened them up for discussion.
This meeting brought together a worldwide community, offering the chance to follow up and discuss the ongoing pandemic from our individual perspectives.

ESCV Workshop on Emerging Virus Infections, Vienna, Jannuary 2020
The ESCV Workshop on Emerging Virus Infections was celebrated on 23rd – 24th January 2020 in Vienna, Austria.
The workshop gave an update on different aspects of emerging virus infections. It provided an
overview on the actual epidemiological situation and clinical data of different emerging viruses as Flavi- , Hanta- Chikungunya-, Avianflu-, Crimean-Congo-, Ebola-, Corona-, or Bornaviruses, especially concerning the situation in Europe. It further focused on the handling of highly infectious samples from patient to the diagnostic labs and dealt with challenges in diagnostics of emerging viruses. The workshop combined lectures by experts in the field and discussions about interesting aspects of emerging infections, and the participants were encouraged to also provide short case contributions on the topic.
